Using JAZ Drive

• In order to use JAZ Drive with your PowerBook, it is necessary that the following softwares are installed in the hard disk.
  
  
  • Iomega Driver (in System : Extention folder)
  • SCSIProbe ( in System : ControlPanel folder)
  
  
• Proper way of using JAZ drive
  
  
  1. Check that both PB and JAZ drive are powered off.
  2. Connect JAZ drive to PB with a proper SCSI cable.
  3. Power-on JAZ drive.
  4. Run PB.
  5. (Working)
  6. Shutdown PB.
  7. Power-off JAZ drive.
  
  
• Improper way of using JAZ drive
  
  
  You should not do this :-)
  
  In the case where PB is running and we want connect JAZ drive to PB,
  
  
  1. Check that JAZ drive are powered off.
  2. Connect JAZ drive to PB with a proper SCSI cable.
  3. Power-on JAZ drive.
  4. Insert a JAZ cartridge into the JAZ drive.
  5. Run SCSIProbe.
     Then the following window appears:
     
     
     
  6. Click "Cancel".
     Then the following window appears:
     
     
     
  7. Click "Mount", and click "Mount" once again.
     Then JAZ is mounted.

Don't disconnect JAZ drive from PB while it is powered on !
