Generative Understanding
- In his/her practice in the society, he/she would be obliged to be independent and to do more than, or other than, what he/she leaned in school.
Thus, his/her application of mathematics should be generative.
This means that learning mathematics is not to memorize what teachers say or what are written in textbooks, but to understand generatively each subject he/she meets in mathematics class or anywhere.
- If he/she lacks some mathematical knowledge required in his/her practice in the society, he/she must learn it, and in most cases, by his/herselves.
Thus, he/she should have been trained in school to understand the way of learning mathmatics, or any school subjects.
