Installation of OS



  1. Take memo of the setting of some control panels.

    In particular,
  2. Backup the current system.

    1. Boot the machine from the system in JAZ.
    2. Backup the current system.
      1. Rename the current system folder "xxxx.old".
      2. Copy "xxxx.old" into JAZ.
    3. If the remaining space of the internal harddisk is less than 250M, delete "xxxx.old".

  3. Install OS.

    1. Insert the system CD into the CD slot.
    2. Run the installer in the CD.
        If your machine is produced after the CD, the installer might not run on your machine.
    3. Select the internal harddisk as the target where new system is installed.
    4. Start installation.

  4. Backup the new system (1).

    1. Name the system folder "xxxx.pure"
    2. Copy "xxxx.pure" into JAZ.

  5. Customize the new system (1).

    Compare between "xxxx.old" and "xxxx.pure" at each of You might copy files in "xxxx.old" that do not exist in "xxxx.pure".
    But note that this is very dangerous !!
    You can copy safely, for example,


    But do not copy, for example, "TCP/IP Preferences".

  6. Check if the new system works.

    1. Eject the system CD.
    2. Shutdown the computer.
    3. Power-on the computer.

    If the new system does not work, boot the machine from JAZ. Delete it, and copy the system in JAZ.

  7. Customize the new system (2).

    For every software that installs system files,
    1. Install it anew.
    2. Delete the folder of the application made in this process. (We don't need two same folders.)

  10. Backup the new system (2).


  11. Make the English-Arabic sytem.

    1. Delete the current English-Arabic sytem.
    2. Duplicate the sytem "xxxx", and name it "xxxx-A".
    3. By using System Switcher, switch the system to "xxxx-A", and restart the machine.
    4. Install the Arabic Language Kit.
        Check the customizaiton of the installer.
    5. Install the updater.
