Decimal Counting
"Counting the elements of a class" can be interpreted as "Measuring by using natural number as value".
Mankind has developed many kinds of techniques that reduce the labor of measuring.
As for the measurement where the decimal number is used as measure-value, the following way of measuring works.
That is,
- generating a decimal-units-system from
the original unit;
- measuring an object (read as a class of
sprites of the unit) by using this system.
If the original object becomes analyzed like this ....
"2302" becomes "the measure-value relative to the original unit".
The reason why this results can be understood if you recall the way of making the decimal number.
As this example shows, by introducing a decimal-units-system we can drastically reduce the steps of counting.
