Naming Straight Lines

Naming is made by using the names of some two points on the line, as follows:
• Straight Line
  • We can name the straight line by naming any two points that determine the line.

  • The straight line passing through the points A and B, and going to infinity in both directions, is denoted by AB.
  • The arrow ������ shows that the line can be extended without limit on both sides.
• Line Segment
  • The line segment with endpoints A and B is denoted by

  • Remark:
    • The line segment AB is the same as the line segment BA.
    • The line segment AB is a part of the straightline AB.
