    There happens a case where we are not able/inclined to express "n units" using a natural number n.



    In this case, such an expression as "1 unit and little more" sometimes works.



    But the expression "1 unit and little more" does not uniquely indicate the quantity expressed.



    So, such a kind of expression as indicates a unique quantity is wanted.



    And an answer to this problem is the introduction of the rational number.



    When we use the rational number n, we say "n unit", instead of "n individuals", in the sense of
    "what quantity equal to unit multipled by n".
    Here the name of the status of n is "multiplier".
