Preface
Making a page of a homepage is just making a text file, together with files of materials such as image, sound, movie, and so on. Viewing pages of a homepage means that
- loading files of text and other materials of the homepage, to your machine from a server machine on the Internet, and
- opening them,
by means of WWW browser.
Homepage is written with a language called "HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language)".
HTML serves us forms of expression for laying a page out, loading files, making links, and so on.
If you select "Document Source" from "View" menu in the menu bar, then a text file is opened. This is the source file of the page you are seeing on the browser. And the language used here is the HTML.
HTML is a user-friendly language in the sense that biginners can make a page anyway. In fact, every text is an HTML document.
The more you make pages the more you become to desire that your pages look nice. Thus, you are to proceed your learning HTML with pleasure.
There are many textbooks/references of HTML. So are WWW sites. The environment for the leaning HTML is completely satisfactory for you.
