"Diversity of individuals" is the principle of the democracy and of its philosophical counterpart — pragmatism. Their standpoint is : "diversity of individuals" is, as a moment of the community/organization, definitely present before everything.
Democracy itself may be regarded as a pragmatism toward "diversity". Indeed, it gives pragmatical meaning to the diversity of individuals. It considers : (1) A community /organizationis better conditioned to be able than an individual because of its multi-viewing/thinking/acting by diverse individuals; (2) Thus, a community is able to the extent they use diversity well; (3) If the diversity seems to be constrained in the community, the community is surely going wrong direction.
"Resilience" is another key concept about "diversity" at democracy. That is, diversity pragmatically means that : some variety survives while the remains perish — an analogy of biodiversity.
